yesterday was a big day in Sasha's development. she started walking. it began with 3 then 4 steps, going between Nick and I. she was having so much fun that she just kept going and we kept scooting farther away from each other. in the end she took 10 steps totally independently. i had a feeling that she would be walking by her first birthday. she seems to have very good balance and control. she gets that from her dad. it was such an exciting moment. Nick and I were thrilled to be able to watch her first steps together. our only regret is that the video camera was not charged. :(
in honor of her first steps daddy is going to take her shopping for a new pair of walking shoes tomorrow. (she is just moving into size 4's now.)
every day she becomes more of a kid and less of a baby. its exciting and sad all at the same time.
love to everybody.

WOW!! Way to go Sash!
Sounds like a wonderful moment for everyone.
All three of you girls started walking about 2 weeks before your first birthday. Sasha seems to be following in some great footsteps. Uncle Lucas started walking at 10 months, if I am remembering right. And I believe that Uncle Kent was 3 years old. Does that sound right?
Nick, how old were you when you took off on foot?
Congratulations to Sasha!
Charge up that video camera! If you are so brave you an get a YouTube account and be the first to put a video on our site.
I just discovered that the camera I got for mothers day can reord short video. This was a cool thing to find out.
Ages for walking... first three all after their first b-day. It would seem that Tyler will be sooner what with his cruising already.
Thanks for posting about this milestone Shawn.

Great job Sasha, nice of you to let both your parents see it too. I hear you about the happy/sad growing up experience. Sometimes I still miss holding Baby Allison but am proud of all she's becoming. She has started using my old cell phone to take photos and she tells us she needs to look for something "interesting" to take a photo of. She got sad when she filled up the phone's memory and missed an interesting shot. :)
